As one might expect, this year’s Opera Columbus Ball was intent on reaching
out to a broader community. While Opera doesn’t have a reputation for
being “hip”, co-chairs Brigid Butler and Jay Dascenzo worked tirelessly to bring
new life to the event. Their vision included Shane’s Gourmet’s innovative
quartet of small plates, along with our Director of Catering, Jody Harris’s,
event production expertise.
To accompany Jay and Brigid’s vision – and the spectacular stage show – Chef
Scott Morit CEC created an amazing menu that dazzled guests with his culinary
creativity and artistic display. “At the Opera Ball, our guests were the
decoration,” Chef Scott said. The feedback from those guests was that Chef
Scott’s beautiful small plates added both color and tremendous flavor to this
year’s gala.
After an evening of fabulous food and good conversation, guests returned to
the lobby to find a small plate desert buffet and dance floor. The
remainder of the evening was spent dancing the night away!
